Mathew 25; 14-30 Parable of the Talent

Matt.25; 14 for the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

The Greek word Oikonomos, more clearly define what the type of service that was provided by a servant in Jesus day. They would manage household or household affairs; especially a steward, manager or superintendent. They were either freed-man or slave.
What God has committed unto his servants is his word and admonish his servants to not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth (II Tim 1:13 :Rom 1:16)
He has not only given his servants the word, but has given them to go forth in the authority of his name and that he has equipped them with the Holy Ghost to accomplish his will. It is required of them to be diligent in the affairs that have been bestowed upon them and not only diligent;
But faithful (I Cor. 4:2)
As ambassadors be confident in the word of God and speak boldly (Eph. 6:20)
Also go to the highways and hedges and compel them to the house of God( LK. 14:23)
But he that is not diligent towards God will not have the spiritual condition needed to increase that which was deposited in him. But he that has zeal and is steadfast will not become un-focused or bewildered towards God. They will not only have the spiritual stamina to increase the talents that are valued with divine virtue which is of far more value and enrichment than that of silver or gold, but this will please the master greatly and not disappoint him like the one who was wicket and slothful. (2 Pet 1:1-11).
