Bible Text: Genesis 4:1-9 |

Our topic , “Am I my Brother’s Keeper

Sermon Scriptures: Genesis 4:1-9, Philippians 2:4; Hebrews 11:4

God is asking Cain, where is his brother Abel?   As we can see in the scripture how Cain reply to our God, by saying, “Am I my Brother Keeper.”    Cain reply was ignorant and disrespectful to our God.  Because God knew what Cain had done to his brother.  This scripture is reminding us that we do have a responsibility to take care of those and with the right spirit that God has placed in our lives.   The scripture let us know that Cain was born first and both brothers were to present an offering.  In presenting the gift Abel had a better gift than his brother.   The Word goes on to say that the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.  But unto Cain and to his offering he had no respect.

In being there for our brothers and sisters let us give our very best to them.   The Word of God also reminds us,  “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things on others.” Philippians 2:4

Let us remember Abel and his offering, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and by it he being dead yet speaketh."  Hebrews 11:4

In closing, let us ask God, “What offering are we presenting to Him?

Prayer:

Lord Father help us to be our Brother’s Keeper.  Have us to be more dutiful for peoples that you have placed in our lives. Let us be more willing to give your Word, life experience, testimonies and love.   We thank you for this reminder.   In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
