Soul Business Part 2

Power Scripture: Ephesians 5:25
Topic: Soul Business
This Sunday our Scripture was from Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it."
As we continue with the overall theme "Soul Business" we learn that God loves children and He loves the women of God. We talked about training up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. But what happens when a child (in this case a women) has missed that very important training in life. We have all kinds of reasons for marriage, good looks, good hair, nice smile, but what about souls? When we get that so called diamond in the rough in a help mate. Are we prepared to have the patience to persevere in prayer while God is making a change in our spouse’s life? What happens when we cannot see change in the near future, do we weaken, grow weary, faint....get a divorce?
First we must check our LOVE!!! Not love for your wife but your love for Christ. Next we must check our commitment. If we have a history of quitting, guess what, we will quit again! Then we must check our value meter, seeing that our expectations are not the same as God’s. If we place someone in His hands we don't know what they will become. Lastly we must persevere. Have the patience to wait on the change, even though it doesn't come when we think it should.
Let us not let the world teach us how to love and care for one another. One of the most valuable resources that a man can have is his wife. She is the one who comforts, when all the world misunderstands. This first Sunday we will explore how to enhance our marriage and rededicate ourselves to the task of a Holy filled marriage and home.
